[Action--anyone in the area]
[It's early evening in Olivine, and this guy is down at the beach, armed with a net, several Pokéballs, and some members of his team that aren't fire-typed or on his bad side. Which is Aura, Pink Thing, Victory, and a yet unnamed Buneary. It's actually a hilarious sight to see, because Victory seems to be the only one listening to any commands he gives, because Aura is attempting to swim, Pink Thing is doing a great impersonation of a buoy, and the Buneary keeps running away from the waves. So Rep is attempting to net something himself, without falling in the water.
It's sort of working. In that he's caught and released severalhundred Magikarp by himself.]
[Audio, slightly later]
Is it possible to catch something that's not a fish or...something with tentacles from the beach? I've heard the fish are pretty useless and I have enough useless things to take care of.

Date: 2013-03-26 03:18 am (UTC)Ah, this Pokemon is new to you? [He makes a 'tsk' sound. Normally he'd be okay with having obscure Pokemon but more people really need to know about these guys.] They are ghostly jellyfish-like creatures. Despite being ghosts, they are actually quite regal and beautiful. Depending on its sex, it will have a different appearance as well.
[He attaches a photo of his own Frillish.]
This is the female variety.

Date: 2013-03-27 06:28 pm (UTC)[He's looking at the picture, so he's quiet for a few seconds.
It looks like you, Dist.]Yeah, I've never seen one of those. Where can you catch them?
[audio]
Date: 2013-03-28 03:15 am (UTC)So you prefer to be surprised, then. I suppose I can appreciate that.
[Especially if they're pleasant surprises, like his Frillish.]
They are only available for capture in Kanto, but you will likely be able to purchase one from a breeder. I see them in egg sales quite often.
[audio]
Date: 2013-03-30 03:22 am (UTC)[A pause, then:]
...By the way, who am I talking to? You don't sound like anyone I've met so far.
[audio]
Date: 2013-03-30 04:54 am (UTC)It's a shame I'm not a breeder myself, or I would provide you with one. You sound interested enough in these stunning creatures. Do keep an eye out, then.
[He then takes in a breath.]
But yes, introductions are overdue, aren't they? My name is Dist. Admittedly I haven't kept up with the network for some time; work keeps me busy.
And you are...?
[He knows the boy's voice, but he can't quite place it.]
[audio]
Date: 2013-04-03 06:09 am (UTC)[Making a mental note to look for a Frillish from anyone or anywhere.]
My name's Evan. What kind of work do you do?
[audio]
Date: 2013-04-04 02:36 am (UTC)A pleasure, Evan. I work in a laboratory in Goldenrod City. My specialties lie in machinery and robotics; I'll have you know that I am quite renowned for it in my home world.
[Among other things, but let's not get into the things that make him look bad.]
[audio]; blaaah late
Date: 2013-04-07 05:49 am (UTC)Oh...so what kind of stuff do you normally make?
[audio] It's all good!
Date: 2013-04-07 06:48 am (UTC)Fully-functioning robots that can perform various tasks depending on what they're designed for. Typically, they're used as weapons. Though they aren't exactly in high demand in this world for obvious reasons.
Aside from that, I also make devices to be used for different purposes. I don't mean to be vague with that statement, but really, the options are limitless.
[audio] sorry for the late tags. I love this thread though.
Date: 2013-04-10 07:02 pm (UTC)Yeah, the people in this world don't seem to like weapons that aren't Pokémon or related to Pokémon somehow.
[audio] It's totally understandable! I'm not so fast myself, haha.
Date: 2013-04-14 06:07 am (UTC)I can't see much need for them when Pokemon can accomplish the job just as well. And besides, there are even robotic Pokemon. Self-replicating ones at that; it's fascinating.
