Character
Name: Riku Replica
Series: Kingdom Hearts (Chain of Memories)
Timeline: End of Sora’s story
Canon Resource Links: His KH Wiki page
Personality: First of all (as his name implies) the Riku Replica is basically a clone of an existing person, and a good chunk of his personality comes from that person as a result. He also, over a very short time period, goes through a series of personality ‘changes’ as a result of memory manipulation by Naminé, giving him a very confused personality when all is said and done.
Before the first change, he’s confident to the point of arrogance, stubborn and aggressive. He's horribly blunt when he talks, almost insulting if you don’t know him well or aren’t used to it. He knows that he’s a clone, but it doesn’t seem to hinder his ability to taunt anyone he thinks is weaker than him. However, he gets highly defensive if someone else mentions that fact, and is quick to reassure them (and possibly himself in the process) that it doesn’t matter to him. He demonstrates this very quickly, meeting the real Riku before anyone else in the castle bar the Organization members.
Also in his meeting with Riku, he differentiates himself by boasting that while Riku fears darkness and is reluctant to use it, he doesn't fear it at all and as a result is already much stronger and has the capability to become stronger.
He has his memories tampered with by Naminé after this meeting, changing him for the first time. He forgets that he's a clone, ridding himself of that anger trigger temporarily and also 'remembering' Naminé, who he had just met. He becomes very loyal to and protective of her and hostile to anyone who seems to be a threat. This includes Sora, who becomes a high-threat target in the Replica's mind, despite merely being a person of interest before (and potentially someone weak).
As a result of this, the Replica fights Sora several times, getting beaten and retreating each time. This reveals an aspect of the Replica's personality not shown outside fighting: the more the Replica starts to lose, the less likely he is to play fair. He's a sore loser, much like Riku, but has absolutely no qualms about fighting dirty.
He attempts to strike Sora when he's down after their, prompting Naminé to take action and knock him out with her version of a heart attack, which supposedly removes the fake memories she gave him. Later, it’s shown that this isn’t the case, because...
...It doesn't revert him back to how he was before, but rather gives him a more mixed personality. He still feels the same way towards Naminé, wanting to stay by her side and protect her despite what she had done, but doesn't resent Sora anymore, since his knowledge of Sora was based on the fake memories.
It's worth noting that the Replica tends react with anger to anything that confuses or upsets him, either physically or verbally, often breaking the ‘cool, confident’ mask he puts up (another similarity to Riku). These ‘tantrums’ can be triggered by anything from someone disagreeing with him to being confronted with something he just can’t wrap his head around.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths:
~Physically strong - Probably slightly stronger than a normal kid his age, even without special abilities. Probably more durable as well.
~Loyal - If he likes you and trusts you, you're unlikely to get rid of him anytime soon.
~Determined - While he's willing to give up on something that doesn't entirely interest him, if he really really wants to accomplish something, it will get done, or he'll die trying. Pretty much literally, depending on the task.
Weaknesses:
~Horrible at hiding emotions - Mostly anger and surprise.
~Has no real life experiences and thus gets confused very easily about just about everything. He has memories of some things, but hasn't actually experienced very much of anything except fighting.
~Quick to anger
~Stubborn
~Argumentative. Also doesn’t like authority figures very much, or anyone telling him what to do, really.
~Easily manipulated - He suffers from having literally no identity of his own at all, and would be easy to convince if someone were to offer him a way to create that identity, regardless of the method. Or a way to get rid of the guy he's cloned from, he'd jump on that right away. Basically, he'd be a good evil minion if you play your cards right.
~Also power-hungry - See above.

[This is a great first impression. This post seems to be accidental, as the video kicks on to show the display pointed at an odd angle facing a wall, with some colored fabric obscuring part of the display. There’s a muffled voice and some footsteps, then a shirtless silver-haired teenage boy wanders into the camera’s field of vision, running a hand through his hair irritably.]
This had better be some kind of joke. Whoever thought this was funny is going to get it when I figure out how to get out of this world.
[There’s a faint voice from offscreen, and he suddenly turns.]
Leave me alone! I don’t have a mother and you’re not Naminé, so I don’t care who you are!
[A bit more pacing, and then he glances in the direction of the camera. His face flickers from anger to surprise, to anger again in just a couple seconds.]
What the heck are you and where did you come from?!
[The video is suddenly flipped sideways and manages to catch the boy attempting to capture the Nidoran filming him before the feed shuts off.]
Third Person Sample:
To say the Replica didn’t get technology was an understatement. He’d barely even heard of a computer in his entire life so far, let alone seen one. Cameras existed, he knew that much, but cellphones were entirely unheard of. The PokéGear was a giant mystery wrapped in an enigma, much like everything else encountered in the world so far. Poking at some buttons brought up something called a ‘PokéDex’, which the Replica deemed fairly useless until he pointed it in the direction of his new companion and it proceeded to give him an information blurb about it, complete with a picture. Huh.
He hadn’t named said companion, mostly because they didn’t really get along well so far. Not after the Replica had attempted to suffocate it with a pillow and when that didn’t work, tried to shut it in his backpack instead. There were still bite marks on his arms from the attempt. They had managed to declare a truce, and nothing had happened in the past couple hours of travel.
Except that they were lost.
“Tch. I can’t get anything out of these people. That’s the fifth person that’s asked me what town I’m trying to get to. I’m not trying to get to a town, I’m trying to figure out why I’m here!”
He screwed up his face, glaring at nothing in particular. The trees, perhaps. The Nidoran following him twitched it’s ears, apparently unconcerned with the human’s minor tantrum, and headed over to the side of the path to examine the grass.
This was probably the best idea either of them had had all day, because a minute later, the Replica made one of the worst decisions for that day. Frustrated, he picked up a decent-sized rock and chucked it into a nearby clump of bushes, dispelling some of his anger.
And angering a small flock of Pidgeys nesting in said bushes, all of which scattered when the rock landed nearby, and most of which simultaneously responded with a large cloud of dust aimed at the rock-thrower.
“Wh-what the...? Augh!”
Someone hated him, definitely.
