Step 1 | Video/Action for Cherrygrove

[Hello again, Pokéworld. You've probably seen this face before, because it's identical to another face currently residing in the world, but it's not the same person. Said face looks slightly irritated.]

Geez, I leave for an hour and someone steals all my stuff...all my money, my clothes, my bracelet! My whole team's been replaced with the most useless bird besides a Pidgey. And my badges. I don't want to deal with Whitney again!

[He pauses his rant to run a hand through his hair, not to calm himself, but just to give him something to do with his hands while he takes a breath.]

...I've heard that people who leave...their Pokémon sometimes end up with other people. Did anyone get Nami or Spike? Pyre? Ri? I'll even take Aura if he's still around.

[He ends the feed there. He's in an inn room in Cherrygrove if anyone wants to bother him in person, but he's mostly waiting for responses from the Gear.]

[Dist can't help but roll his eyes. He knows this boy spent at least a few months in Johto before returning home. Does he really need to ask?]

The same way people can spend years in their world via a week-long coma. In other words, we haven't the faintest idea yet. This world doesn't make any sense for many reasons, and that is one of them.

We can only hope.

[Though his hopes aren't that high, what with the little headway the non-natives have made in several years. But maybe...]

Ah, I wouldn't mind that. But you're going to have to remind me why you intended to visit me. You'll have to forgive me; it has been six months, after all.

[Dist's eyes widen slightly, but he quickly catches himself by returning to his usual smug expression.]

I don't believe you ever mentioned wanting to see my work, but that doesn't matter. It's a pleasant surprise to find out you're so interested in what I do.

[Yes, thank you for that small ego stroke. He appreciates it.

There's a very obvious reason why he reacted with surprise at first though. It poses a problem because all of Dist's work is in the Rocket base, and he definitely doesn't intend to invite more non-Rockets into the base just so he can show off.

But he'll figure something out. There's plenty of ways to get around this without actually refusing Evan's request.]

I don't see why you couldn't come take a peek at my latest creations. But do tell, what in particular are you hoping to see?

[When you're so butthurt about being constantly ignored, even the smallest compliments are significant.]

Ah! So you were listening. Excellent. [...of course he was, Dist.] You happen to be in luck then, because I am currently working on a new robot design. As it is my first robot designed with this world's resources, I've had to make some rather large alterations, but I believe it should be able to function in a similar way to my world.

[Oh goodie, he enjoys explaining this stuff...despite it being relatively elementary for those in his world. He's gotten used to the fact that not everyone here is an Auldrant native, though.]

With fonon technology. Fonons are elemental particles that make up everything in my world, and are split into seven elements. Fire, electricity, water...all of it is run on fonons. Fonists can manipulate fonons for a variety of things, including combat. By that description, the Pokemon in this world emulate what fonists do in my world.

That said, fonon technology utilizes fonons to perform everyday actions that you would expect most machines to do. In this world, I've had to harness other resources in order to get around the absence of elemental manipulation.

Did any of that click?

[Because he certainly doesn't intend to repeat himself.]
